Valerio La Piana is a London-based session drummer, percussionist and musical director, originally from Italy. He began playing drums at age 2 inspired by his father, and started his professional career at 13, performing with local bands and artists at festivals and local concerts. Valerio moved to the UK to study Popular Music Performance at ICMP London, where he obtained a Bachelor Degree and built a career as a full-time session drummer. Over the years, he has performed and recorded with artists including Dylan Holloway, Ben Portsmouth, Sebastian Shub, The Wild Violets, The Second Nature, Jess Thristan, Natalie Lindi, and Paul Westwood. He is currently busy in performing for multiple artists, bands, theatre shows and private events as well as touring the UK with the theatre show This Is Elvis featuring Ben Portsmouth. He also serves as musical director for OneOrchestra, and teaches at Planet Drum music school in North London.
