Jamie A

There are many dimensions of Saxophonist and Electronica Producer Jamie A. During an 18-year career which has seen him play at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s and The Blues Kitchen, he is now producing music that really nudges the bar on the electronic scene.

Growing up in Lancashire and now based in London, his expertise at playing one of the most sensual and evocative instruments around has firmly established his reputation as a performer of the highest order. Academically trained at the University of Westminster, he can also tinkle the ivories, play the guitar and bang out the rhythms on the drums. Multi-talented is a label that sits very comfortably on his shoulders, and his presence is highly sought after by clients who want to add that touch of class to their event.

That live experience has now also translated to his work in the studio where his brand of laid-back electronic vibes swim invitingly on the horizon. His deep knowledge of the great Classical and Jazz composers combined with the modern influences of Ross From Friends, Moderat, Four Tet, Gorillaz and Vangelis allow him to work from an extraordinary palette.

With two tracks already under his belt titled ‘Rona’ and ‘Wonder’, Jamie has certainly released music that will speak to listeners looking to add that touch of excellence to their collections. That reputation in the studio to fuse Electronic/Ambient and Chill with uplifting melodies has been driven by that decades of experience playing to live audiences.

Understanding the requirements of those crowds and keeping pace with their moods is a knowledge that can only be learnt through real-world events. Creating emotional context that embraces fans in a world of musical colour is what Jamie thrives on. It is an unbroken bond that keeps pace with his clients’ desires and something which he dedicates himself to in every single performance.

Whether it be covering the work from the likes of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Stan Getz, or layering his playing over more contemporary grooves, there is nothing that Jamie A cannot achieve. As his list of ‘A’-list clients agree, Jamie is that special ingredient that adds flavours you once only dreamed of.
