Khong

Khong

Leeds has long been a bastion of the UK House Music scene ever since it arrived on its unsuspecting shores. Having delivered acts such as Hot Since 82, Dave Seaman, Nightmares on Wax, Utah Saints, Paul Woolford and so many more, DJ Producer Kevin Cowley, A.K.A Khong, is following in their footsteps with his bass heavy brand of deep four on the floor.

Having trained at Leeds Met University in Music Production, it is hardly surprising that his tracks are articulate and have that measure of sophistication that stands out from the crowd. Combined with his Thai roots and that Leeds club scene that can justifiably claim to be a self-sustaining ride into the night, Kevin is equally at home in the studio as he is behind the decks.

12 years of addictive grooves and upbeat hooks inspired by Solomun, Hot since 82, Paco Osuna, Franky Rizardo and Gorgon City have seen him play at seminal nights in his hometown including Space Club, Mission, Revs De Cuba, Neon Cactus, Revolution and If Bar. He has also ventured further afield to the White Isle of Ibiza appearing at venues Aperture and Cee Cee.

This reputation for crafting dynamic, fluid and exceptional sets has also seen him play alongside iconic artists Cloonee, Endor, Kisch, Will Taylor, Pleasurekraft, Spektre, Kreature, MADVILLA, Tommy Vercetti and many others. This has led to him appearing on the BBC as his music begins to take hold.

Starting to occupy the production realm in 2019 under his alter ego Khong, which saw him signed to labels including FXtion Records, Swerve Digital, and Brooklyn based label OKNF Records, he is now branching out with two tracks due for release in 2024 called 808 Cannons and Set Me Free. Exposing these tracks on the national broadcaster is further evidence that a career that has been over a decade in the making is about to kick off big time.

If you are looking for that DJ Producer who has history in the game and who understands that unshakeable bond between the dancefloor and the music, then you need look no further than Khong. The journey that many DJs speak of but never achieve, is written deep within his DNA. It is a fundamental essence of the world he creates every time he steps behind the decks and something his fans always come back to.

Set yourself free with Kevin Cowley and enter a place where melodic and deep House Music reigns.
