DZL Beats

Soulful and Disco House sprinkled with Rare Groove are certainly deeply ingrained in the blood of DZL BEATS aka Daryl Allman. However, there are many more arrows in his quiver to unleash onto an unsuspecting audience in search of a truly inspiring mix. So much so that MI-Soul Radio, the brainchild of broadcasting maestro Gordan Mac who transformed London with Kiss FM, have recognised his talents by offering him a weekly slot.

That desire to be an eternal master of the groove is hardly surprising when you consider the family, he grew up in. His aunty was a featured artist on Freeez by Southern Freeez and appeared on Top of The Pops, and still more aunties provided backing vocals for the Reggae group Black Harmony. With that much wind in your sails, he was steered into the path of Trinidadian Calypso master Superblue. Warming up with him on percussion before going out on stage, DZL also taught himself the guitar, further expanding his musical horizons.

Releasing his debut EP Save Us Volume 1 in 2018, it was also around this time that he discovered the art of DJing. Finding himself perfectly disposed to aligning with the culture and the skills, his career really began to take off when he started to work with JW DJ Agency.

That hard work and dedication paid off as people flocked to his fluid mix of soulful genres. In 2022 he was rewarded with an appearance at the Sutton Jubilee Party alongside Mi-Soul legends Gordon Mac, Pete Andrew, Craig Williams and Ronnie Here. That has been the launchpad for a regular spot on the station where he broadcasts every Sunday under the brand Bar Boujee from the Slug and Lettuce in Sutton. Further expanding his repertoire with flourishes of 80s and 90s dance peppered with R&B, his star has never shone brighter.

No matter the environment, no matter the event, with DZL BEATS laying down the groove, there is no doubt that audiences will feel their spines liquefy in a melting pot of luscious delights. He is the answer to the prayers of those discerning crowds who need that soul in their life. It’s time to join him in that world of sublime textures and celebrate the spirit in all its glory.
