CONSCIOUSNESS

In the context of day-to-day life at JW DJ, Consciousness is the state of being aware of and responsive to one’s surroundings, what one does and why, how one lives and engages with the world and others. Every little thing that we do on a daily basis can make an impact, from switching off a light, to not printing an email.

CONSERVATION

Conservation safeguards biodiversity and the integrity of the ecosystem services it provides, which in turn support global needs. At JW DJ we play our part, and for every member of our team we plant a tree when they join us. We further offset our carbon footprint generated by driving equipment to private bookings, by donating a portion of our fees to our partner charity, Just One Tree.

COMMUNITY

Ensuring and enhancing the well-being of people in general is a fundamental obligation of all. JW DJ pays its part in this by enhancing the well-being of all with whom it has a direct and indirect relationship. We work with charities supporting local communities, with emphasis on young people and increasing social mobility, uplifting those from a low socio-economic backgrounds and ensuring that we pay well above the London Living Wage.

CULTURE

Celebrating commonality within cultural diversity is what nurtures mutual understanding; this understanding coupled with respecting our uniqueness and differences is crucial to humanity’s future. JW DJ strives to strengthen inter-cultural relationships, while raising awareness of and celebrating the beauty of cultural diversity and working to. We focus on how music establishes unity and celebrates differences. Our doors are open to people from all backgrounds no matter their gender, sexuality, or religion. We actively encourage DJs from the LGBTQIA+ community, black communities and ethnic minorities into our inclusive team with special emphasis on creating opportunities for equal representation in the industry. We have a family ethos, and we approach all of our relationships in the same way.

JUST ONE Tree

JUST ONE Tree is a non-profit initiative removing CO2 from the atmosphere and reversing biodiversity loss through global reforestation. They plant trees in areas severely affected by deforestation to maximise the effect on reducing global warming. In the process they help to provide agricultural education and sustainable incomes to local communities.

But they don’t stop there. JUST ONE Tree concentrates on restoring the entire ecosystem by planting on land and in the oceans, and they also focus on helping to shape the next generation of planet-conscious thinkers by bringing environmental education into the classrooms with their free teaching resources and JUST ONE Tree Day.
